  • With Ozzie stating his mother's full name as Linda Takada, his last name is revealed. At this point in the series, the only main character whose last name has never been stated on the show is Nikki.
  • Clerks and Kevin Smith were previously mentioned in "Free Leia". This episode marks the debut of recurring characters Sonny and Bunch, portrayed by Kevin Smith and one of Clerks' stars Jason Mewes.
  • Leo previously mentioned having estranged children in "Kitty and Eric's Night Out" and specifically referred to a son in "Radio Daze".
  • While showrunner Gregg Mettler has confirmed that Sonny and Bunch replace Leo in the show from this episode onward, he also stated that the door remains open for Leo's future appearances.
