- Clerks and Kevin Smith were previously mentioned in "Free Leia". This episode marks the debut of recurring characters Sonny and Bunch, portrayed by Kevin Smith and one of Clerks' stars Jason Mewes.
- Leo previously mentioned having estranged children in "Kitty and Eric's Night Out" and specifically referred to a son in "Radio Daze".
