- "All I know is that Brooke and I had a romantic night together at the concert..”
- —Kelso wanting to pursue Brooke
Brooke and Kelso is a romantic pairing on FOX's comedy That '70s Show. They are portrayed by Shannon Elizabeth and Ashton Kutcher.
About[]
Kelso and Brooke were once a couple, and possibly have remained friends since their relationship has ended; at least on good terms. In the late '70s, they rekindled their relationship, possibly married; raising their daughter Betsy together. Sometime in the '80s, they went their separate ways; with Brooke having sole custody of Betsy, unknown how much Kelso is involved with her upbringing.
1970s[]
In 1978, the two hooked up at a concert after getting drunk.
The two met again that year in The Acid Queen, but Brooke pretended not to recognize him, and Kelso's friends didn't believe he hooked up with a beauty like her. He went through several lengths to win her over but was rebuffed though she was amused. At the end, she meets him and confirms the encounter and Kelso gloated to his surprised friends though was shocked by her announcing her pregnancy.
In I'm Free, Kelso initially ran off on Brooke after being told, despite his friends wanting him to talk. After bumping into him, Brooke made an effort to want to discuss things with him but after he ran again, she did not trust Kelso and didn't want him in the child's life because of his immaturity and idiotic nature. After he came around, he tried making an effort but was rebuffed, though Brooke apologized for it.
During Christmas, he still puts in an effort to show he wants to be in their child's life. She has mellowed out towards him, even stating they could be friends. Kelso even left his reunion and chose to hang out with Brooke, and it is revealed he sometimes comes in late before to flirt with her but is ignored. While hanging decorations, Kelso explains that he wanted to spend time with her. His actions didn't go unnoticed, as Brooke is revealed to have an interest in him while trying to tell Kelso that he is wrong if he thinks he will win her over by being cute and making her laugh with sweet gestures. After a sly look from him, she stopped mid-sentence, and admitted it might work. As thanks for his help, she gave him book as a present and though he didn't like it, he smiled at her. He further impressed her by guessing the contents of gifts.
In I'm a Boy, he officially asked her out, she was reluctant but after he admits that he's into her does she agree. She was also flattered by a flirty comment he made about her, despite her pregnancy. The date was a disaster, since his womanizing and immature past was brought up by his friends. Brooke soon left, after one last plea from Kelso about the child. At the end, she came around and admits her fear of parenting, something he relates to. She kissed him on the cheek after agreeing to wait for a call.
The two began a relationship, with him being upset by the lack of intimacy in Baby Don't You Do It. After he comes clean about an accident, Brooke reveals she knew and admits she was unsure if she could trust him. Once confirming she could, Brooke drew him in for a passionate kiss.
They later had one daughter, called Betsy. It was mentioned that they are no longer together but are co-parenting well. She even allowed him to pick the godparents.
1980s[]
Kelso ended up rekindling his romance with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Jackie Burkhart. Kelso and Brooke will however remain a part of each other lives as the parents of their daughter, Betsy.
At some point either during the '80s or the early '90s, Kelso broke up with Jackie and gave his relationship with Brooke another chance. Their renewed relationship lasted for three years after which Kelso went back to Jackie. Years later, Betsy would refer to this time period as "the weird three years" and Kelso and Jackie's son Jay would refuse to talk about it.
1990s[]
It is assumed that they co-parent their daughter; however, Brooke has sole custody of her.
Quotes[]

Brooke: "Don't pretend you wanna go out with me just because you feel guilty."
Kelso: "Brooke, I wanna go out with you because you're hot."
