"May she rest in peace // 1910-1980s"[]
Beatrice "Bea" Dorothy Sigurdson was a fictional character on FOX comedy That '70s Show. She was the mother of Kitty Forman and was portrayed by the late Betty White.
Character[]
Bea looked like a friendly old lady, but was actually very loud and very rude, even to her own family. She appeared in a few episodes in Season 5. She was often seen yelling and nagging a lot at her husband, Burt or said something very rude to Kitty in a sunny demeanor. In Your Time Is Gonna Come after Burt bought an ostrich farm in which all the ostriches would be eaten by the coyotes due to the ostriches being right next to the coyote farm the Sigurdsons became bankrupt and were forced to sell their home. After they arrived at the Forman house and explained the situation to Red and Kitty, they then took them in despite Red's dismay. While Kitty was sympathetic to her father, Bea however blamed Burt for losing all their money. Later on when Burt collapsed in the driveway, the Formans, Hyde, Kelso, Fez and Bea took Burt to the hospital where he dies. She showed little emotion after her husband's death, caused Kitty to be angry by this. Kitty did catch her crying in a bedroom later, proved that despite her constant yelling and nagging at Burt, she did however love her husband. In Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Bea stayed with the Formans for a while after Burt's death and gave Kitty a hard time, caused her much more stress. However, after the events of the episode Bea eventually left Point Place and went back to Phoenix.
Bea was briefly mentioned in That 90s Pilot by Kitty. It was revealed that she died, presumably from natural causes. When both Eric and Kitty were talking about Leia visiting for the summer, Kitty said she visited her mother's gravestone and told him that she admitted how much "fun it was when the house was full".
