Synopsis[]

Eric learns that his parents have spent all of his college savings, so he must find a way to finance the next four years.

  • The title of the episode “2000 Light Years From Home” refers to Eric in a way of trying to explore many opportunities to find a way to get money for college and with Kelso trying to find ways to break up with Angie. Additionally the title of the episode is also a reference to the English rock band The Rolling Stones’ song “2000 Light Years From Home”.
  • Last appearance of Angie Barnett.
  • First and Last appearance of Mr. Bray.
  • Angie is promoted to a new job at a corporate office in Milwaukee and since she will leaving Angie breaks up with Kelso.
  • This is the first time that it is mentioned that Eric has no money for college due to his father spending it on the Muffler shop.
  • Eric and Donna visit their old high school guidance counselor Mr. Bray for better opportunities to allow Eric to pay for college.
  • After meeting with Mr. Bray and signing up to a program that lets people teach impoverished areas for a year and will pay for college, Eric announces that he will be leaving for Africa to teach there.
  • Despite being in the episode Bob only had a short screen time.
  • According to Donna, Mr. Bray has an inappropriate crush on her. Additionally he also spies on Donna at her window while driving by the neighborhood.
